Types of Aid
Financial aid is money that helps you pay for college. Financial aid can be a combination of scholarships, grants, loans, and work study.
- Scholarships and grants are "free money" that you do not need to repay.
- Loans need to be paid back when you enroll less than half-time or you graduate.
- Work Study includes a part-time job which can help you pay for school and living expenses.
- Exemptions are a type of financial assistance allowing some Texas residents to attend a public college or university in Texas without paying tuition or, in some cases, tuition and fees.
- Students with Disabilities may also qualify for funding through the Texas Workforce Commission.
